Love Your Body and AromaFlow

Love Your Body

Saturday, March 7, 2015   10:00am – 11:15am at Womanspace

Girls ages 9-13

Girl’s bodies seem to be changing much earlier within the last 15-20 years creating challenges for both the girls and their parents.  Contaminated food with hormones, pesticides, and GMOs may play a key role in these changes.  Young ladies, particularly adolescent – puberty and pre-puberty age are highly impressionable and find themselves experiencing greater levels of peer pressure as well as indirect and social pressures via marketing channels, social media, and the internet; all teaching them (subtly and not so subtly) that to be accepted they have to dress and look a certain way. Within our culture, we have an epidemic and serious problem with lack of kindness, lack of compassion, and bullying.  With all the social pressures, social media, TV, internet, inaccurate portrayal of beauty, social pressures about body image

This class is to help teach these girls to love, accept, and appreciate their body and how to deal with the social pressures surrounding body image.

Keri will safely guide practitioners/participants through a fun, upbeat yoga practice, teaching them to practice Ahimsa = non-harming/non-violence and to love their bodys exactly the way that they are.  They will leave feeling inspired, empowered, strong, confident, and loving their body!

Please bring a yoga mat and whatever yoga props you use.

AromaFlow – Using Essential Oils in Your Yoga Practice

Saturday, April 18, 2015    10:00am – 11:15am at Womanspace

Enhance your Yoga practice with Essential oils!  Aromatic oils have been used for thousands of years not only for their fragrance but for culinary, therapeutic, ritual, and Spiritual purposes.  Smell, our most primitive sense,  is the only sense that extends directly into the brain and is an essential component of our physical and emotional health.

During this workshop, we will learn how to incorporate essential oils into our daily lives and yoga practice.  We will have a brief discussion on the history of essential oils and their benefits, and other fun facts followed by a physical asana practice during which we will incorporate topical and aromatic application of a few popular oils.

Please bring a yoga mat and whatever yoga props you use.
